Ludhiana, September 15
As many as 26 government school students from Ludhiana have been tested positive for coronavirus in the last month. In Punjab, a total of 153 students have fallen prey to the deadly virus.
The district has topped the list with 26 cases. Other than that, a staffer has also been tested positive. In Amritsar also, 19 government school students were found positive for covid.
As directed by Punjab Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, the health department had initiated a testing campaign in schools. This happened after 20 students from two schools in Ludhiana were tested positive for coronavirus on August 10.
A total of 33,854 staffers (both teaching and non-teaching) and 3,21,969 students were tested from August 10 to September 9. Mohali has topped the list with a 0.26% positivity rate. Ludhiana recorded a positivity rate of 0.05% positivity rate.
