The Director-General of Punjab, VK Bhawra on Monday launched a new web portal for the residents of the state to report cybercrimes.
DGP launched “cybercrime.punjabpolice.gov.in” in the presence of DIG State Cyber Crime Nilambri Jagdale and DSP Cyber Crime Samarpal Singh.
The portal has been named Punjab Police Cyber Crime Division. The state police department has tried to make the portal very user-friendly. Whenever a user opens the web portal, an informatory video on how to use the portal and its importance pops up. It gives information on how to file a complaint if a cybercrime happens to anyone.
Other than that, the portal gives useful information about CFCFRMS i.e. Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System. Also, the complainants can track their complaints using the portal. Also, the portal gives an option to the complainant to file the complaints anonymously. There is also an option for the people to file their complaints through the toll-free number 1930.
