Ludhiana, October 20
Former Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh took to Twitter on Tuesday, October 19 and informed that he would soon announce his own political party.
He wrote that he would soon announce his own political party for the interest of Punjab and farmers who were fighting for their survival.
He also informed that provided that the farmers’ issues get resolved, he will consider a “seat arrangement” with BJP in the 2022 Assembly polls. Further, he wrote that he was looking at an alliance with like-minded parties such as breakaway Akali Groups, particularly Dhindsa and Brahmpura fractions.
It is to be noted that last month, Captain Amarinder Singh met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and NSA Ajit Doval in New Delhi. Since then, there were speculations that Amarinder Singh would join Bhartiya Janta Party. He has yet not officially announced his resignation from Congress.
In September this year, Captain Amarinder Singh quit his post as the Chief Minister of Punjab saying that he was “humiliated”. 79-year-old Captain Amarinder Singh had been a part of the Indian National Congress.
