The Youth Congress members and BJP supporters clashed outside BJP’s head office near Clock Tower, Ludhiana, on September 11. Because of the ongoing issue of the e-auction of Improvement trust, the Youth Congress supporters have earlier decided to protest outside BJP’s office in Ludhiana. BJP workers on Thursday i.e. September 9, locked the Improvement Trust office.
Youth Congress was there to protest against the rising fuel and LPG prices and also, the locking of Improvement Trust. However, during the protest, members of both parties clashed. Hundreds of supporters from both sides reached the spot. Police forces were deployed heavily near Clock Tower as stone-pelting was witnessed from both sides. As a result, supporters from both parties were injured. The police personnel on the spot had to lathi-charge to control the situation.
BJP supporters have alleged that the Youth Congress members had tried to damage their office and have pelted stones on the building. They have said that the Congress supporters acted as hooligans today and action must be taken against them.
