Ludhiana, March 24
A young man committed suicide and hanged himself to death in Bhattian Colony, here in Ludhiana today. The reports suggest that a domestic dispute was going on and his wife had fought with him. The man tried to persuade the wife who had left the house. However, the matter could not be resolved due to the intervention of her in-laws, the reports suggest.
On Tuesday evening, the man reportedly committed suicide. A suicide note was also recovered by the police from the spot. Police have registered a case against the man’s wife Ranjana, father-in-law and brother-in-law.
The deceased has been identified as Sukhdev Sahni (31), a resident of Bhattian Colony. The police of Salem Tabri police station has handed over the dead body to the relatives after conducting a post-mortem of the dead body.
Investigating officer SI Tamanna Devi reportedly said that Sukhdev was into aluminium business. He was married to Ranjana about two years ago. Just after a month of his marriage, Ranjana left the house due to a domestic dispute. Sukhdev went to her house and tried to persuade her many times.
But every time, he was insulted. That was why he was very upset. Sukhdev’s family was out of the house on Tuesday. In the evening, Sukhdev committed suicide by hanging himself with the fan.
When his family members reached home at around 7:30 pm, the door of the house was locked from inside. His brother entered the house through the neighbour’s terrace and saw Sukhdev hanging from the fan. He immediately informed the police.
A suicide note was also recovered from the spot. In the note, Sukhdev wrote that he wanted to settle his house. But his wife, father-in-law and brother-in-law were interrupting. That is why he took the step. On the basis of the found suicide note, the police of Salem Tabri police station has started the investigation.
