Marking the birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar and protesting against the rising fuel prices and inflation, a petrol pump sold the petrol at Rs. 1 per litre.
The petrol pump is in Maharashtra’s Solapur district. On Thursday, the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the petrol was sold at Rs. 1 per litre to the first 500 customers. Also, each of the first 500 buyers, was given only 1-litre petrol at Rs. 1.
The local residents thronged the petrol pump when they got the information of petrol being sold at such a price. Also, a police team had to be deployed to control the crowd.
According to the reports, the program had been organized by Dr. Ambedkar Students and Youth Panther.
The State leader of the organisation reportedly said that if they could provide such a relief to 500 people, even the government could do the same.
Across the nation, the petrol prices are soaring. In most of the states, it is being sold at a price of over Rs. 105 per litre.
