Damandeep Singh Uppal has become the new chairman of the Amritsar Improvement Trust. Earlier, Dinesh Bassi was the chairman.
On Wednesday, Amrinder Singh’s loyalist Bassi was removed from the post. The reports suggest that Damandeep Singh is a close aide of Navjot Singh Sidhu.

The media reports also suggest that Bassi did not have good relations with Sidhu. On his visit to Amritsar, Channi replaced Diesh Bassi with Damandeep Singh Uppal.
