Famous Punjabi singers and artists on Saturday, October 9, gathered in Ludhiana near Punjabi Bhavan to protest against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

Artists like Yudhvir Malik, Surinder Shinda, Yudhvir Manak, Sarabjeet Virdi, Amrik Singh Talwandi, Shamsher Singh (Daler Mehndi’s brother). All of the protesting artists were wearing black bands on their heads.

Sarabjeety Virdi completely condemned the violence and the way an SUV was run over the protesting farmers. Virdi also shared the song that he wrote describing the Lakhimpur Kheri incident.

With his song, he asked, “Justice has not been served to us till now and how many farmers would be killed?”

Surinder Shinda also requested the government to repeal the “anti-farm” laws so that Punjab and its people get back their happiness.
