Ludhiana, December 7
The Punjab Roadways contractual workers are on an indefinite strike. The strike started on Tuesday, December 7 all across Punjab. The contractual workers of PRTC and PUNBUS were angered over the unfulfilled demands.
In Ludhiana, around 200 buses were affected. Bus union official Paramjit Singh said that the struggle would continue till their demands were not met. They have alleged that the government was not accepting their demands for a long period of time.
Earlier also, on December 3, the employees protested for 2 hours and observed a chakka jam. The protesting employees said that they were then assured by the government that their issues would be discussed in the Cabinet meeting. However, the demands are not met till now.
