The Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, on Thursday, has taken suo-moto notice of the casteist remarks against the CM Charanjit Singh Channi on social media.
The chairperson of the commission Tejinder Kaur informed that a Facebook account had posted abusive and casteist remarks about the Chief Minister and it went viral on social media.

Taking notice of these remarks, the Chairperson has instructed the Director, Bureau of Investigation Punjab to take action under Section 3 (1) of the Prevention of Atrocities Act, 1989 and submit a report by September 29.
