Lok Insaf Party Chief and former MLA from Atam Nagar Ludhiana, Simarjit Singh Bains has been declared fugitive by the district court.
It is to be noted that he had violated the coronavirus protocols outside the Police Commissioner’s Office in Ludhiana. Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Harsimrajit Singh has given the orders and Simarjit Singh Bains has been declared a fugitive.
He had been asked to appear before the court multiple times. However, he did not appear. Therefore, the court declared him fugitive.
It is to be noted that charges of rape have also been filed against the former MLA Simarjit Singh Bains. In that case, Bains has filed a bail plea and the next hearing of the case is on April 11.
Simarjit Singh Bains had been the MLA from the Atam Nagar constituency for 10 years. However, in the 2022 Assembly elections, he lost the Atam Nagar seat to Aam Aadmi Party candidate Kulwant Singh Sidhu.
