Income Tax Department on Tuesday morning raided the office and residence of Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manpreet Singh Ayali. He is the MLA from Dakha constituency of Ludhiana.
According to the reports, around 70 officers of the Income Tax department raided Manpreet Singh Ayali’s residence around 6 am on November 16.
Along with the Income Tax officers, CRPF personnel have also been deployed. Manpreet Singh Ayali is a close aide of party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. He first became MLA in the year 2012. Later, in the year 2017, he lost against AAP’s HS Phoolka. However, in the year 2019, Phoolka resigned from his post and Ayali became the MLA for the second time in the by-elections.
