Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a rally in Abohar district of Punjab. It was his third consecutive rally in the poll-bound state.
Addressing the rally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi questioned Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for his “bhaiyya” statement.
On Wednesday, Charanjit Singh Channi, in the presence of Priyanka Gandhi, had said “Bhaiyas from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi can’t come here in Punjab and rule. We will not allow UP bhaiyas to stray into Punjab.”
To this statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted and slammed him. In Abohar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “There won’t be any village in Punjab, where people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, do not toil.”
He also questioned, “Where was Sant Ravidas born?” Then, he said, “He is was born in Varanasi Uttar Pradesh. You say that you will not let “bhaiyya” of Uttar Pradesh enter Punjab. So, will you turn away Sant Ravidas too?”
Narendra Modi also asked, “Where was Guru Gobind Singh born?” Then, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Guru Gobind Singh was born in Patna (Bihar). You say that you will let the people from Bihar come in. So, will you insult Guru Gobind Singh also?”
