On Thursday, January 21, Ludhiana Commissionerate had given orders to close the liquor shops at 11 pm and restaurants till 11:30 pm. However, now, on Friday, the Ludhiana Police Commissionerate has said that the orders are “kept in abeyance”.
It means the orders given by the Ludhiana Police Commissionerate are now at a temporary halt.
The new orders read that due to some legal interruptions, the orders to open liquor shops till 11:00 pm and restaurants till 11:30 pm, are “kept in abeyance”.
It is to be noted that amid the covid surge, night curfew (from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am) is in force in Ludhiana till January 25. Ludhiana District Magistrate has given the orders amid the rising coronavirus cases. On January 25, the orders will be revised.
