Ludhiana, October 6

The Uttarakhand High Court on Tuesday lifted the daily limit on the devotees going to Char Dham temples- Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri, Badrinath.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the High Court had set a daily limit for the pilgrims at each temple- 800 for Kedarnath, 1,000 for Badrinath, 600 for Gangotri and 400 for Yamunotri.

From Wednesday, October 6, there won’t be any limit on the number of pilgrims visiting for “darshans” every day.

The pilgrims will still have to bring along a negative coronavirus report and vaccination certificate. The reports suggest that police will be deployed as per requirement in Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi districts.

Earlier, the High Court had also banned bathing in any reservoir or spring located around the shrines. The state government had sent an affidavit to the High Court and requested to amend its earlier decision.
