Ludhiana, October 4
Chandigarh Police reportedly took PPCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu into preventive custody along with other leaders of the Punjab Congress on October 4. They were protesting outside Punjab Raj Bhawan against the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and demanded the arrest of Union MoS Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra.
They also condemned the arrest of Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra in UP. Punjab Congress leaders also protested against the statement made by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.
A video of Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has gone viral on social media where he was seen interacting with the party cadres. He advised them to make groups of 500-700 volunteers armed with lathis in each district of north and west Haryana and retaliate against protesting farmers.
