Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi once again condemned BSF’s decision of increasing the jurisdiction of the Border Security Force in Punjab.

On Monday, CM was addressing the media to make announcements related to water tariffs and the recruitment of Group D employees. He also spoke on this matter and said that law and order was a state’s subject and the Centre should have consulted the state to take such a decision.

He said, “I met Home Minister and said the communal harmony and brotherhood must prevail in Punjab, irrespective of who is in the ruling party.”

He condemned the Centre’s decision and said

“There was no need for this decision. I have been told that drones come from Pakistan. They have a range of 50 km. If that is the reason, then aeroplanes also come from Pakistan. They have a range of 200-250 km. They can go to Delhi. The helicopter’s range is even more. If you have to stop a drone, do it within 5 km. What is the point of stopping it at the 50 km range? Our police forces are there to stop them.
