Ludhiana, October 15
On the occasion of Dussehra, several arrangements have been made in Ludhiana to maintain security and peace. As many as 2000 police personnel will keep a vigil during the Dussehra celebrations.
Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Commissioner of Ludhiana, informed that effigies of Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbkaran would be consigned to flames at 23 places under Commissionerate police’s jurisdiction.
Other than that, the additional force from Punjab Police Academy Phillaur has also been deputed in the city.
Dussehra fairs would be held in Daresi, Upkar Nagar, Chandigarh Sector-39, Rajguru Nagar, Aggar Nagar, Gobind Godham, Iskon Temple Janpath, Millerganj, Jamalpur, Gyaspura, Sarabha Nagar, Focal Point and other areas in the city. In Daresi, a 100-feet long effigy of Ravan would be burnt.
