On Monday, a Qatar Airways flight from Delhi was scheduled to land in Doha. However, the passengers in the flight had to land at Karachi Airport in Pakistan.
As per the reports by ANI, the flight QR579 was carrying over 100 passengers. It was going from Delhi to Doha. However, an emergency landing was made at Karachi Airport because of an indication of smoke in the cargo hold.
ANI reported, “Flight QR579 from Delhi to Doha on March 21 diverted to Karachi having declared an emergency landing due to indication of smoke detected in the cargo hold.”
Another flight was being arranged for the passengers from the Karachi Airport.
The airline reportedly said that the investigation into the incident is underway and a relief flight was being arranged for the stranded passengers.
“We apologise for the inconvenience to our passengers who will be assisted for their onward travel plans.
A video message of the passenger of the flight has also gone viral on Twitter. He said that many passengers have a connecting flight from Doha. However, there is no information provided by the Karachi Airport authorities as to when will the relief flight take off.
