A rape victim minor in Ludhiana gave birth to a child. As per the reports, the victim is just 11-years-old.
The incident came to light in Koomkalan Police Station. The father of the victim reportedly filed a complaint with the police. He said that the accused Shashikant put all his efforts to hush up the matter. But as her daughter gave birth to a child, the family came to know about it.
A police team is reportedly trying to trace the accused Shashikant. Under several sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police Station in-charge Ranbir Singh reportedly said that the victim’s parents worked as labourers. They used to live inside a factory. Shashikant used to work at a nearby factory and on the pretext of marrying the girl, he raped her. When she got pregnant, the accused threatened her to keep mum.
When the family of the girl got doubtful, they asked one of their female relatives to talk to her. To her, the girl she described the whole incident. Later, the lady took the victim to her home. The family of the girl also alleged that the lady also tried to hush up the matter.
On Saturday, the girl’s father filed a report with Koomkalan Police Station. The girl was admitted to Civil Hospital on Monday, where she gave birth to a child. The police immediately registered the case after she gave birth.
