Numbers increasing rapidly, one death reported

As many as 63 people in Ludhiana got infected with coronavirus on Monday, January 3. From the last five days, the coronavirus cases are increasing rapidly in Ludhiana. One death has also been reported in Ludhiana.
Out of 63 who tested positive today, 56 people belonged to Ludhiana and 7 belonged to other districts and states. The number of active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana has reached 198.
Four international travellers are amongst the infected people. Also, 7 people came in contact with the infected patients. 5 out of the 63 who tested positive were healthcare workers. A 59-year-old male, a resident of Hambran Road Ludhiana, lost his life because of coronavirus.
Less testing, more positive reports
The number of people being tested for coronavirus in Ludhiana is very low as compared to the number of positive cases coming up. Today, only 1649 samples have been taken for coronavirus testing.
From January 1, the number of samples taken for testing has been more than 2500 (Jan 1- 2705, Jan 2- 2582). However, today, the samples taken for testing has come down to 1649. The death toll due to coronavirus in Ludhiana has reached 2119. The coronavirus recovery rate in Ludhiana has reached 97.43%.
