Ludhiana, January 20
As many as 1170 people have been tested positive for coronavirus today in Ludhiana. 1048 belong to Ludhiana and 122 belong to other districts and states.
The death toll in Ludhiana is rapidly increasing. Even some adults are falling prey to deadly coronavirus. Today, 7 deaths have been reported in Ludhiana. Five of the deceased belonged to Ludhiana and one each belonged to Moga and Himachal Pradesh.
A 30-year-old female, resident of Sector-39 was admitted to CMC Hospital Ludhiana, lost her life due to coronavirus. Other deceased includes
- 74-year-old female resident of Janta Colony (DMC Hospital)
- 76-year-old female resident of GK Vihar Dhandra (Pancham Hospital)
- 55-year-old male resident of Village Malak Jagraon (Civil Hospital)
- 75-year-old male resident of Village Bilga Sahnewal (Sidhu Hospital Doraha)
Active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana
Currently, there are 8563 active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana. Out of those, 8386 patients are home isolated. 157 patients are admitted to the private hospitals in Ludhiana. 20 people are admitted to government hospitals in Ludhiana.
The number of patients on ventilator support is also increased. Yesterday, there were 20 coronavirus patients in Ludhiana who were on ventilator support. Now, the number has reached 22. Of those, 12 belong to Ludhiana.
Death toll in Ludhiana
With five more deaths of Ludhiana residents due to coronavirus, the death toll in the city has reached 2158.
Coronavirus sampling increased in Ludhiana
Because the number of coronavirus cases are increasing in Ludhiana, the coronavirus sampling is also increased. Today, as many as 8240 samples are sent for coronavirus testing.
