Congress will decide its announce its Chief Minister face for Punjab on February 6. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has reportedly said that Congress high-command will announce the chief Minister face for Punjab, on February 6.
As per the reports, Charanjit Singh Channi was addressing the Congress workers in Chamkaur Sahib when he informed about it. Congress is reportedly doing a survey to select its Chief Minister nominee for Punjab. Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu are in the race for the CM candidature.
The sources suggest that Charanjit Singh Channi is ahead in Congress survey, in which they are seeking opinions from party workers, MLAs, MPs and even the common public.
Rahul Gandhi on his visit to Punjab had reportedly said that Punjab Congress will announce their CM face before elections.
Aam Aadmi Party has also done a survey to announce its Chief Minister candidate. They conducted a televoting drive in which Bhagwant Mann received maximum votes.
Charanjit Singh Channi is contesting the elections from two seats- Chamkaur Sahib and Bhadaur. Navjot Singh Sidhu is contesting the elections from Amritsar East seat against Shiromani Akali Dal’s Bikram Majithia. In Punjab, elections are going to be held on February 20 and the results will be announced on March 10.
