Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi on Friday, made Punjabi a compulsory subject for the students of Class I to X in Punjab.
Charanjit Singh Channi took to Twitter and shared the information. He informed that to promote the mother tongue, the decision has been taken.
Further, he informed that the schools violating the rules would be fined up to Rs. 2 lakh.
Earlier also, Punjab Chief Minister opposed CBSE’s decision of keeping Punjabi in minor subjects.
