As the Assembly elections results in five states have been announced, the fuel prices are rising once again. For the fifth consecutive day, the fuel prices are hiked. The petrol price has touched the 100 mark in Ludhiana. The petrol is priced at Rs. 100.18 and diesel is priced at Rs. 88.91 per litre in Ludhiana.

On March 29, the petrol price was increased by 80 paise and diesel price was increased by 70 paise. In Delhi, the new price of petrol is Rs. 100.21 and diesel price is Rs. 91.47.

The price hike was expected after the results were announced in the five poll-bound states. All over the country, the price hike has been witnessed. Both the state government and the Centre government had reduced the taxes on fuel before the elections schedule was announced in five states Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Manipur, and Uttarakhand.

Also, the Ukraine-Russia war has also hit the fuel price globally. The crude oil prices have been severely hit. That is also the reason for inflation and continuous hike in fuel prices.
