Ludhiana, February 7
A day after being announced as the Chief Minister candidate from Congress, Charanjit Singh Channi today reached Naina Devi Temple in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh.
Channi offered his prayers to Shivling in the temple premises. A few days before being announced as the CM candidate, Charanjit Singh Channi also visited Mata Baglamukhi temple in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district.
He performed a Havan at Baglamukhi temple. As per the reports, he reached the temple late in the night and offered prayers.
Before reaching Naina Devi, Charanjit Singh Channi visited Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib in Anandpur Sahib.
On the other hand, Navjot Singh Sidhu is also a frequent visitor to Vaishno Devi Temple in Jammu. He was also in the race to become the Chief Minister candidate for Congress. He also visited Vaishno Devi Temple a few days before the announcement of the CM candidate.
Channi becomes the CM candidate
On Sunday, February 6, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi announced Charanjit Singh Channi as the CM candidate.
Before Congress, Aam Aadmi Party has also conducted a survey seeking opinions from the general public to announce its CM candidate. AAP has announced Bhagwant Mann as its CM candidate.
