Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit on Saturday launched a cow protection awareness campaign and also inaugurated Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham Part-II at Panj Peer road, Hambran.
Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit said that cows are sacred for all of us and they are an integral part of India’s culture. He said that the people worship the cows and social reformer Vinoba Bhave ran a movement to protect the cows.
Governor Banwari Lal said that the cow protection awareness campaign would be effectively implemented in each district of Punjab and people would be encouraged to adopt a cow in the Gaushalas.

He also emphasized the need for more cowsheds for their protection and care. Later, he also visited Govind Gau Dham.
Punjab Gau Sewa Commission Chairman Sachin Sharma thanked the Governor for inaugurating the Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham Part-II. He said that the Commission has also recently written to President of India to declare Cow as the national animal.
Mahant Sampoorna Nand Bharmchaari Ji and Swami Devrat Ji Maharaj also addressed the gathering and detailed the steps being taken by Dandi Swami Gau Lok Dham in the protection of the cows.
