Newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today spoke against the Centre government.
He said that the Centre government has been stepwise imposing officers and personnel from other states in the Chandigarh administration. Further, he said, “This goes against the letter and spirit of Punjab Reorganisation Act 1966.”

This tweet came after Amit Shah’s announcement that Chandigarh administration employees will get the same benefits as those of the Centre government employees.
On Sunday, March 27, Amit Shah had visited Chandigarh where he made such claims.
This tweet from Bhagwant Mann came after Amit Shah made the announcement. Not only AAP, but all the political parties in Punjab have condemned this statement of Amit Shah. They have alleged that it dilutes Punjab’s claim on Chandigarh and is “against the spirit of federalism”.
Amit Shah had visited Chandigarh on Sunday. He said the service conditions of employees in the Chandigarh administration will be aligned to that of the central civil services. This will increase their retirement age. Other than that, It will allow more child care leave to the women.
Shah said “The retirement age of employees in Chandigarh will now go up from 58 to 60 years. Women employees will now get child care leave of two years from the current one year.”
