A Panchkula resident businessman named Manish Sanghi was reportedly found dead in Radisson Blue Hotel in Ludhiana on Saturday.
As per the reports, 35-year-old Manish Sanghi allegedly committed suicide. The suicide note was recovered and he held 14 people responsible for his death.
Manish Sanghi’s wife, Shonika Goyal reportedly said that her husband was a big supplier of pipes all across the country.
Shonika reportedly said that the accused owe crores of rupees to her husband. Whenever he asked him for money, the accused used to threaten him. She said that her husband was in depression because a lot of his money was stuck.
Further, Manish’s wife said, “On February 21, Manish said that he was going to Amritsar for some business meeting. Later, he went to Ludhiana. On February 25, I received a call from the Sarabha Nagar police station. I was informed that my husband was found dead in room 816 of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ludhiana.”
Booked under section 306
According to the reports, the Sarabha Nagar Police has registered a case under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code. As many as 14 people are named in the FIR. Arvinder Singh and his wife Natasha, resident of Gurugram, Rajesh Ram from Delhi, Narinder Gulati, Sandeep, Rajesh Daga of Yamunanagar, Bominani Raman and his son, residents of Andhra Pradesh, Rajiv Sanghi, Shalini Sanghi, Kamal Sisodia, Akash Sanghi, and Umang Sanghi are the main accused in this case.
The police team has also recovered some brown coloured tablets from the room in which Manish died.
The investigation officer ASI Jagjit Singh has reportedly said that the inquiry into the matter has been initiated. The suicide noted would be sent for forensic examination.
Further, the police informed that the preliminary investigation suggests that Manish died of suicide. However, the autopsy report of the deceased would further clear the air and describe the exact cause of death.
What’s in the suicide note?
As per the reports, the deceased had some money dispute with the accused named in the suicide note. The approximate amount comes out to be Rs. 3-4 crore.
Police scanning CCTV footage
The police reports suggest that the deceased checked into Raddison Blu on February 24. The next day, he was found dead in the hotel room. The police teams are now scanning the CCTV footage of the hotel to find the clues. The footage is being procured for further probe into the matter.
