A clash between the Simarjit Singh Bains supporters and the rape victim, who had filed a complaint against the LIP chief, was witnessed in Ludhiana on October 22.
The incident happened when the Lok Insaf Party workers (Bains supporters) were on their way to give bangles to Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal and the party candidate from the Atam Nagar constituency Harish Rai Dhanda.
According to the reports, the woman had alleged that Harish Dhanda had asked her to file a complaint against Simarjit Singh Bains. That was the reason why Lok Insaf Party workers, including women, had reached planned to protest against Harish Rai Dhanda and Sukhbir Badal.
The LIP workers had planned a march towards Embassy Hotel, where Sukhbir Badal had to reach. However, the police stopped them at the Bhai Bala Chowk where they brought an effigy of Sukhbir Badal on a donkey.
At the same time, the other woman, who had filed a complaint against Bains reached the spot with her son and started raising slogans against him. Giving answers to them, the female workers of the party clashed. The situation was chaotic and all of them were involved in a verbal spat.
Two women had alleged Simarjit Singh Bains of sexual harassment. The police had filed a case on one’s complaint, however, the other woman has withdrawn her complaint two days ago.
