Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Saturday informed that there are 19 active patients in the district at present. He informed that 5004 new samples were taken for testing.
In Ludhiana, a total of 26,13,694 samples have been taken, of which 25,14,439 samples were found negative. Deputy Commissioner informed that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 87,569, while 11,686 patients belong to other districts and states.
Because of coronavirus, as many as 2104 people have lost their lives. Other than that, 1052 people from other districts and states have succumbed to coronavirus. As the festive season is going on, the number of coronavirus cases may increase.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma appealed to the residents to adhere to all the safety protocols like wearing masks, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently.
