Yellow Alert in Delhi amid surge in Covid cases | Know what is allowed and what’s not

Amid a surge in coronavirus cases in New Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has declared a “Yellow Alert” in the national capital.

Arvind Kejriwal announced several restrictions in Delhi on Tuesday, December 28. The government had said that all the restrictions would be in effect immediately.

Here are all the new rules announced by the government

  1. Night curfew has been imposed from 10 pm to 5 am.
  2. At weddings, not more than 20 people are allowed. It would be allowed only at home or in court.
  3. At funerals also, only 20 people would be allowed.
  4. Except for essential services including hospitals, media, banks, insurance companies and telecom services, private offices will function with just 50 percent staff.
  5. The odd-even rule will be followed by malls and shops from 10 am to 8 pm. Online deliveries will continue.
  6. Cinema halls, multiplexes, and gyms won’t be allowed to open. Also, schools and colleges will not open.
  7. The restaurants and bars would function till 10 pm with half capacity.
  8. Delhi Metro will also function with half capacity.
  9. Shops and markets inside residential areas are not bound to follow the odd-even rule.
  10. Salon, parlours and barbershops will be allowed to operate. However, spas and wellness clinics will remain closed.
  11. Political, religious, and festival-related gatherings won’t be allowed. Religious places will also be allowed to stay open. However, visitors won’t be allowed.
