Ludhiana, December 27
The Congress and BJP had to face a major setback in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections. Aam Aadmi Party on its debut secured 14 out of the 35 seats in Chandigarh. The AAP candidates even defeated the formers mayors from BJP- Ravi Kant Sharma and Davesh Moudgil.
The party has shown an amazing performance in the elections. Soon after the results were declared, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter and said that this win was a sign of the upcoming change in the state of Punjab.
Aam Aadmi Party secured 14 out of the 35 seats. BJP won 12 seats. Congress managed to win 8 seats and SAD could only secure 1 seat.
