In Amritsar, a two-days-old baby has been tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday, January 10. As many as 455 new coronavirus cases were reported in Amritsar.

Of those, a medical college principal, 10 healthcare workers, have also tested positive for coronavirus.

It is to be noted that in the first 11 days of the new year, 1932 new coronavirus cases have been reported in Amritsar. The situation has become alarming in the city.

On Tuesday, 357 infected from Amritsar city and 98 from rural areas were tested positive for the virus.

All across the state, 4593 new coronavirus patients have been reported. Patiala was the most affected district on Tuesday as 909 people contracted covid. District Patiala has become covid hotspot.

A few days ago, more than a hundred students of Government Medical College Rajindra Hospital were tested positive for the virus. Other than that, over 90 students of the Thapar University of Engineering were also tested positive for coronavirus a few days ago. The students were even told to vacate their hostel rooms.

From Amritsar International Airport as well, several passengers have been tested positive for coronavirus in the last few days. Twice, the reports of over 100 passengers travelling from Italy were found positive for the virus.
