Ludhiana, March 29
Former PPCC Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu held an unofficial meeting with 15 ex-MLAs and MPs of Congress. The meeting was held at the residence of former MLA from Ludhiana North Rakesh Pandey in Ludhiana. However, former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu was not present at the meeting.
Some big names including Harvinder Singh Laddi, Sukhpal Khaira, Navtej Cheema, Surinder Kumar Dawar and Ashwani Sekhri were present at the meeting.
When the meeting concluded, Navjot Singh Sidhu did not speak anything and tell what was being discussed. On the other hand, Sukhpal Khaira said that the meeting was not about choosing the PPCC Chief or anything else. But Centre’s “interference” in Punjab through Chandigarh, was discussed in the meeting.
“Chandigarh belongs to Punjab. It will stay with Punjab. It was meant for Punjab. Whatever happened in 1966 was unfortunate. You can not attack the federal structure of the country,” said khaira.
