Rejected by Indian Army twice, this youngster joins Ukraine military

Sainikesh Ravichandran is a 21-year-old aerospace engineer student from Coimbatore. The reports suggest that he has been rejected twice by the Indian Army and now, joined the paramilitary forces in Ukraine amid the war against Russia.

The Tamil Nadu government has reportedly told the Centre government that Ravichandran has joined the Ukrainian paramilitary forces as a part of the Georgian National Legion paramilitary unit which consists of volunteers.

As per the reports, Sainikesh went to Ukraine in the year 2018. He went to the National Aerospace University in Kharkiv.

When he completed XII, Ravichandran tried to join the Indian Army but failed. Then he approached the US consulate in Chennai and tried to get into the US Army. Later, he decided to pursue aerospace engineering from the National Aerospace University in Kharkiv.

During the Russia-Ukraine war, Sainikesh Ravichandran’s family lost contact with him. When they contacted the embassy, they came to know that he had joined the Ukrainian Army.
