Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation chairman and former Congress district president Gurpreet Singh Gogi joined the Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday. He was a close aide of Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu.

In the presence of AAP MP Bhagwant Mann, he addressed the media and joined the party. Also, he has put some serious allegations against Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu. He even went to call Bharat Bhushan Ashu “Ravana”.

He said, “Because of Bharat Bhushan Ashu, the entire Congress is scattered in Ludhiana. The rights of other leaders have been robbed. He first chose his own mayor and later the chairman of the Improvement Trust. Bharat Bhushan Ashu is the Ravana of Ludhiana.”

Gogi has indicated that he will contest the elections against Bharat Bhushan Ashu on Aam Aadmi Party’s ticket from Ludhiana West constituency.

Gurpreet Singh Gogi, who was the district president of Congress for five years, has been elected councillor for four consecutive terms since 2002.

As per the reports, he was also keen to contest the assembly elections in 2017. However, he did not get the ticket. He was appointed as the chairman of Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation by Congress.
