Prime Minister agrees to meet protesting farmers | Read to know why

To discuss the pending demands of the farmers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sent an invitation to three farm leaders. PM has invited the leaders for a meeting on March 15. He has invited Satnam Singh Pannu, Sarwan Singh Pandher, Sawinder Singh Chautala.

In a letter issued by the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary, it is written that a meeting has been scheduled on March 15, 2022, with Prime Minister.

Further, it was written, “The meeting shall be held in the conference hall of Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. The concerned may be conveyed of the date and timing of the meeting.”

On November 20, on the occasion of Gurupurab, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of the farm laws. For more than a year, the farmers from Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and other states were protesting at the Delhi borders.

The centre government had reportedly promised a committee to be formed on Minimum Support Price (MSP). The government also promised withdrawal of all the cases against the farmers during the agitation.
