Ludhiana, April 5
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday held a meeting with the SSPs of all the districts of Punjab to take stock of the law and order situation in the state. Earlier, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a meeting with the Deputy Commissioners as well.
On Friday, April 1, mass transfer orders were issued in both the administrative and the police departments. After that, the meetings are being conducted by the Chief Minister with the DCs and the SSPs.
When CM met with the Deputy Commissioners of the districts, he directed them to emphasize more groundwork and reach out to the people, especially in villages.
After Aam Aadmi Party came to power in Punjab and Bhagwant Mann took oath as the Chief Minister, several cases of firing and murder have been witnessed. Former Punjab Congress Chief Navjot Singh Sidhu has been very vocal for the last few days. He also reached Ludhiana yesterday and raised this issue.
