Kultar Singh Sandhwan has unanimously been elected as the Speaker of Punjab Vidhansabha on Monday, March 21.
As per the reports, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann suggested the name of Kultar Sandhwan and then Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema backed it. He has been unanimously elected as the Speaker in Vidhansabha.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also announced that all the proceedings of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha will be live telecasted in future. He said that the people of Punjab should know who was speaking what in the house. It is their right to witness their representatives speaking for them.
Other than that, he also urged the speaker to give enough time to the opposition to raise questions.
