Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party has shown a stellar performance in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation elections. The counting is going on and till now, AAP has secured 14 seats out of 35.
On the other hand, Bhartiya Janta Party won 12 seats. Out of 35 seats, Congress has won 8 seats. Shiromani Akali Dal has won 1 seat.
After the results came in, AAP Punjab in charge Raghav Chadha made a strong statement. He said, “Chandigarh election is a trailer and the upcoming Assembly elections in Punjab will be the full movie. The mood in Chandigarh will be the mood of Punjab. Everyone is voting for Aam Aadmi Party. The initial trends have proved that people have decided to give a chance to Arvind Kejriwal.”
Aam Aadmi Party’s election campaign head Chander Mukhi Sharma lost from his seat. However, BJP had to face a major setback in Chandigarh as both of the former mayors Ravi Kant Sharma and Davesh Moudgil lost their seats to AAP’s candidates.
