Today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited Kharar after recovering from coronavirus. After the Election Commission of India imposed the Model Code of Conduct on January 8, this was Arvind Kejriwal’s first visit to Punjab.
He was seen doing a door-to-door campaign along with Bhagwant Mann and MLA candidate from Kharar Anmol Gagan Mann. However, now, the office of Returning Officer Kharar has sent a notice saying that they have violated the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct.
It is to be noted that the Election Commission of India has clearly said that not more than 5 people would go for door-to-door campaigning. However, in the notice, it has been said that more than 5 people were there in Kharar from AAP for the door-to-door campaigning.
Anmol Gagan Mann has been asked for an answer within 24 hours. Actions can be taken against her according to the Election Commission of India’s guidelines if she fails to come with an answer within 24 hours.
