Ludhiana, January 6

The Supreme Court on Friday will hear the PIL filed against the Punjab government for the “security lapses” that happened near Ferozepur on Wednesday, January 5.

The PIL  reportedly demands judicial cognizance of what it called a “serious and deliberate lapse” from the Punjab government regarding the security and safety of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

As per the reports, Senior Advocate Maninder Singh has raised the issue in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court led by Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, has asked Mnainder Singh to serve the copy of the petition to the Punjab government.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was had to address a rally in Ferozepur. His cavalcade had to take a U-turn because some protestors were blocking his way.

Maninder Singh has termed it an “unacceptable serious lapse” on the Punjab government’s part. He reportedly said that the incident needs to be thoroughly investigated under the Supreme Court’s supervision. The lawyer wondered how some private people accessed the route through which Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to reach the rally.
