On January 5, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to visit a much-awaited rally in Ferozepur district. However, on his way to the venue, his cavalcade had to stop for 20 minutes as some protestors had blocked the route. The Ministry of Home Affairs called it a “security breach”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had to return without addressing the rally. At Bathinda airport, he told the airport officials to thank Punjab CM that he (PM) reached the airport alive.

The BJP had called it Congress’ conspiracy. On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi said that there were no lapses in Prime Minister’s security and he was offered a different route. However, he chose to return. Also, he said that only 700 people turned up in Prime Minister’s rally. That was why he did not show up.
