New covid guidelines in Ludhiana: Court hearings to continue through video conferencing

Ludhiana District and Sessions Judge Munish Singhal has ordered that the hearing of all the pending cases will be conducted through video conferencing till February 20.

The decision has been taken in view of the coronavirus situation in Ludhiana. From January 5, the cases are being heard through video conferencing.

People will be called to the court complex only in extremely urgent cases. As per the reports, the litigants will be allowed to enter the court premises only if they have a downloaded copy of the court order stating that their presence is required.

The advocate can apply for the physical hearing on the official website in urgent cases. If the court allows it, then the hearing can happen in the court.

Other than that, those released on bail have been given exemption from appearance to the court till February 20. Sessions Judge Munish Singhal also reportedly said, as per the directions of the Supreme Court and the High Court, if a court considers it necessary to hear a case by calling a person from jail or from outside, then the orders can be passed accordingly.
