Ludhiana, April 18
A horrifying incident has been witnessed in the Meharban area of Ludhiana where a five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by one of her neighbours.
The mother of the victim has filed a complaint with the Meharban police station. In her complaint, she said that around 8 pm on Saturday, April 16, her five-year-old daughter was playing in the street. This is when the accused Joginder Singh alias Malli took her to his house.
“I tried to find my daughter. Someone told me that she was seen at Joginder Singh’s house. When I went there, then my daughter told me that Joginder had laid her on the bed and did something wrong with me,” the mother said in her complaint.
Further, in her complaint, she said, “Joginder Singh also tried to threaten my daughter and said that she would kill me if she tried to tell about the incident.”
On the basis of the complaint filed, the accused has been arrested and a case under sections 376 and 506 of IPC and section 6 of POCSO Act. Investigating officer Sukhwinder Singh has reportedly said that the accused lived near the girl’s house. He was unmarried. The police have arrested him and thorough interrogation into the case is undergoing.
