After meeting the deceased farmer Lovepreet Singh’s family on Friday, Navjot Singh Sidhu also met deceased journalist Raman Kashyap’s family. He then said that he was observing a hunger strike and ‘maun vrat’ (observing silence) at the journalist’s residence.
He said that his silent agitation would continue till the time the accused gets arrested. Vijay Inder Singla, Rajkumar Chabbewal and Kuljit Nagra were there with Navjot Singh.
As many as eight people died during the incident. The main accused Ajay Mishra’s son Ashish Mishra did not appear for questioning on Friday and a notice has been sent to his residence to appear in front of police.
The Supreme Court had also condemned Uttar Pradesh Government for the handling of the case as Ashish Mishra is still not arrested.
