The number of coronavirus cases in Ludhiana are increasing every single day. On Tuesday, January 4, Ludhiana witnessed as many as 152 new coronavirus cases. Other than that, 1 death has also been reported today. The patient belonged to Barnala and was admitted to DMCH.
103 of the 152 found infected of coronavirus belonged to Ludhiana and 49 belonged to other states and districts.
With this, the death toll in Ludhiana because of coronavirus has reached 2119. Also, the number of active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana has also increased swiftly. Currently, there are 294 active coronavirus cases in Ludhiana. Out of those, 285 are home isolated and 9 are kept in private hospitals.
7 people came in contact with infected persons, 14 were healthcare workers. Also, 41 nursing students of DMCH were tested positive for the virus today.
Testing remains low
The coronavirus testing has not increased in Ludhiana amid the surge of coronavirus cases in the city. On Tuesday, 2975 tests were conducted.

New Prem Nagar, Baba Than Singh Chowk, Basant Vihar, Maya Nagar Civil Lines, Pakhowal Road, Madhpur Sidhwa Bet, Agar Nagar areas have been declared micro-containment zones in Ludhiana.
