Ludhiana, January 3
After the Ludhiana Court Complex bomb blast that happened on December 23, the court has started functioning once again from Monday, January 3. Because of the winter breaks of a week, Ludhiana district courts were closed after the blast.
Now, with increased security, the Ludhiana Court Complex has been reopened. Earlier, there were 12 entry points for the District Court Complex. However, now, the entry points have been reduced to 4.
Though there are no security arrangements at the main entrance of the Mini Secretariat, the police deployment has been increased inside the secretariat premises.
Identity cards, bags of the visitors are being checked at the four entry points of the Court Complex. Even the police personnel are stopped for checking at the entry points.
Also, the entry points for the general public and lawyers and judges have been separated. Secretary, Ludhiana Bar Association, Mandeep Sidhu said, “The footfall from the main entrance from Ferozepur Road is near about 22,000 every day. However, keeping a security check there is quite difficult. That is why security has been increased at the internal entry points.”
