Just two days before the polls, Congress in Punjab, especially in Amritsar, faced a major blow as three of the party’s councillors along with Amritsar mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu, joined Aam Aadmi Party.
The three others who joined AAP in the presence of Manish Sisodia include Priyanka Sharma, Mandeep Ahuja, and Gurjeet Kaur.
Campaigning in full swing in Amritsar East
Only two days are left for election campaigning, and in the hot seat of Amritsar East, some major political leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal and Congress would be seen today.
Navjot Singh Sidhu and Bikram Majithia are up against each other in the Amritsar East seat. For Navjot Sidhu, Charanjit Singh Channi will campaign in his constituency today. For Bikram Majithia, his sister, former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal will conduct a rally in Amritsar East.
